Until the End Page 27

Jason nodded, then slid his hand around my waist. “And she’ll feel very inadequate when she gets a look at my beautiful fiancée. Don’t worry about her.”

I tried to believe that, but I knew just how attractive Johanna was. I also knew she had slept with my man. That drove me nuts. I hated her bad.

The doors opened for us, and we were greeted by two men in tuxedos. Then we headed to the ballroom. When we walked in, the place was already packed. Dancing was happening, and everywhere there were groups of fabulously dressed people with fancy drinks in their hands.

“JESS!” Finn yelled as he saw us walk in. Jason chuckled beside me.

“I think he’s already drunk,” he said as we approached the birthday boy.

“I think you’re right.”

“You came! Dance with me, Jess. Let her, man. It’s my birthday,” Finn said, reaching out to touch me.

Jason pulled me back fast and shook his head. “Happy birthday, Finn. But my woman is off-limits. Find another.”

Finn stuck out his bottom lip and stomped his foot. Yep, he was definitely drunk. “But I wanna touch her.”

Jason tucked me closer to his side. “You touch her and when you wake up sober your nose will be broken. Got it?”

Finn burst out laughing, and then slapped Jason on the back. “You are so whipped.”

Before he could say anything else, someone came up to talk to him and he forgot about us. Jason pulled me away from Finn and we walked over to the bar.

“If he wasn’t drunk and one of my best friends . . . ,” Jason muttered. “I need a drink. You want a club soda? Splash of cranberry juice?”

I nodded and Jason turned to order himself a whiskey straight and me a club soda. I saw a girl I had met when we went to a party in New York City. Our night had ended badly and I’d gone home alone.

“Hello, Jason. Haven’t seen you much this semester,” the girl said, flashing her smile at Jason and completely ignoring me, even though we had met before.

“Hey, Vanessa,” he replied as he handed me my club soda, tinged pink from the cranberry juice.

“You and Jo haven’t been doing anything together lately,” Vanessa said, finally giving me a quick glance before looking back at Jason.

“No. Since I’m engaged and expecting a baby, I don’t spend any time with other women. I got the one I want,” Jason replied, then took my hand. “Enjoy the party, Vanessa,” he said without looking at her as he led me away.

“I remember her from New York,” I told him.

“Sorry. She’s a vulture,” he said.

I nodded, and then Jason stopped to speak to some people who didn’t seem very interested in me. As they discussed a class they were taking I looked around the room.

When a feminine voice joined in, I turned my focus back to the group talking.

“You can borrow my notes. I need them too, but if you want to stay after class you can get a copy of mine. I’ll only ask that you take me for coffee in return,” she said, flipping her red hair over her shoulder.

“You’ve got all the notes?” Jason asked, instead of telling her he wouldn’t be taking her to coffee.

“Yes. Every last one. I’m detailed,” she replied. Why did she sound like she meant that another way entirely? I was not a fan.

“That would be great, Phoebe. Thanks.”

Wait, what?

“No problem,” she said, and then they all started talking about stuff I knew nothing about again.

The feeling of not fitting into this world started to sink in again. I fought it off, but each time Phoebe said something and Jason laughed, I cringed. She was tall and slender. Too slender. And she was in three of his classes. They were majoring in the same thing.

“Jess,” Hensley said, walking up to us with a glass in his hand and smiling. I liked Hensley. He was okay.

“Hey, Hensley,” I replied.

“Dance with me, Jess,” he said, waggling his eyebrows at Jason.

“No, Hensley. Go away,” Jason said, sounding amused.

“I’ll dance with you, Hensley,” Phoebe said, pushing through the group to walk entirely too close to Jason before sliding an arm around Hensley and whispering something in his ear while she looked at Jason.

Hensley’s eyebrows shot up. “Dirty, Phoebe. I like it,” he said, and pulled her out to dance with him. I was glad to see her go, but when she smirked at me over Hensley’s shoulder, I knew I hadn’t imagined things.

Jason

Jess’s hand grabbed my arm. “Take me to the restroom,” she said, close to my ear.

I put our glasses down and took her to the toilets closest to us.

“Looks like that one is empty,” I told her. There weren’t separate women’s and men’s. There were just six private bathrooms. Three on each side of the hall outside the ballroom.

She opened the door, then turned back to me and grabbed my hand to pull me inside. “You need me?” I asked, confused.

Jess closed the door and locked it, then turned around and grabbed my face and attacked me. I let her plump mouth have its way as I enjoyed the ride. I wasn’t sure what this was about, but lately I had learned not to question it.

“I’m not wearing panties,” she said against my lips. “Fuck me.” Her hands moved to tug her dress up and reveal her round little ass in the mirror behind her.

Fuck.

I unsnapped my slacks and got my dick free while I took over the kiss.

“I want your titties free so I can see them bounce while I f**k you,” I told her, reaching for the zipper of her dress. I had already been able to tell she wasn’t wearing a bra. It was driving me—and every male here—crazy. I’d had to keep myself from covering her up with my jacket.

She stepped out of the dress as it fell to the ground, and I broke our kiss so I could pick it up and hang it on the purse hook behind the door.

My beautiful Jess stood in front of me, wearing those hot silver heels I had bought her when she’d all but cuddled with them a few months back after seeing them in a store window.

I was letting my eyes slowly take in this view just when Jess lifted her leg and propped it on the closed toilet seat. “I need you in me, Jason.”

Damn.

I grabbed her hip, jerked her forward, and then slid inside her already wet cunt. “Shiiiit,” I growled, burying my head in her neck and moving in and out of her as she met me with each thrust. “This what you wanted, baby?” I asked as I licked at her neck.

“God, yes,” she moaned, and put her hands on the sink to brace herself. I moved back enough so I could see her heavy br**sts bouncing.

“You want me to pull out so you aren’t leaking come all night?” I asked her as the walls began to squeeze my c**k in a way that would send me shooting off in a moment.

“Inside me,” she panted.

We weren’t gonna be able to stay here long if she was walking around without panties and with come between her legs. I’d walk around with a semi, unable not to think about it.

Jess moved her leg up and wrapped it around my hip. “Yes, yes, oh God, yes, that’s . . . I’m gonna . . . AAAHHHH!” She threw her head back and her body jerked under my hands.

Between the sight of her coming and the knowledge that someone was bound to hear us in here, I followed right after her, crying out as I filled my girl. Holding her to me.

It wasn’t until after I slowly came off my high that I realized how strange this was. Why had Jess dragged me away from the party to do this? I knew pregnant women were horny, but this seemed different. She was wild and clinging to me while she f**ked. Like she had to hold on to me.

“You’re gonna regret not making me pull out,” I said, kissing the side of her face.

“I never regret that,” she replied.

I wanted to believe that she was as satisfied as I was and that this hadn’t been some way to reassure herself that I was hers. She didn’t have to use sex to hold on to me.

“Jess,” I said, brushing hair off her forehead, “as much as I love the fact that you just brought me in the bathroom at a party to f**k my brains out, I’m worried you did it for the wrong reasons.”

She stiffened under me. “I just wanted you.”

This wasn’t the place to talk about this, but we were going to talk about it soon.

I cleaned her up and dressed her. Then I straightened myself up while she got her hair and makeup touched up. When I finally opened the door and Jess walked out, Phoebe stood there, staring at us with wide eyes.

I was worried Jess would be embarrassed, so I started to make up an excuse. But Jess turned back to me and kissed me, pressing into me. Then she smiled with a pleased grin and turned back around and strutted past Phoebe, looking like one very cocky female. I glanced back at Phoebe, who wasn’t smiling. And then it dawned on me: Phoebe’s suggestion that I buy her a coffee in exchange for borrowing her notes had upset Jess.

I had never intended to take Phoebe to get coffee. I was just gonna buy her one and take it to class as a thank-you. But Jess didn’t see it that way. She was marking her man.

I laughed and shook my head. Then I went after my outrageous female. Never a dull moment with Jess. God, I loved that woman.

Jess

The rest of the night Jason kept his hand on me at all times. He didn’t talk to other girls, and he kept asking me about my wet thighs. By the time we left, I was ready to get him back home and have a longer and louder session in bed.

Back at the house, I slipped off my shoes and put them in the closet. When I turned around, Jason was leaning against the door of the bedroom with a grin on his lips. “So, you showed Phoebe who owned me tonight. I’m not complaining, but next time you don’t have to resort to those kinds of measures. You can just tell me it makes you uncomfortable. Phoebe is a flirt, and I’ve ignored it for so long I don’t even notice it. But I get why you did it.”

Walking out of the bathroom to find Phoebe standing there looking at us was even better than I had hoped. I had needed to remind Jason how I could make him feel. And I had needed to remind myself that he wanted me. That I was the one who turned him on.

“I didn’t know she’d hear us,” I said honestly.

He chuckled. “I’m sure you didn’t, but I’m betting that the fact that she was the one who caught us made your night.”

I nodded. No point in lying.

Jason burst out laughing and covered the space between us in two long strides. “You are so crazy. She doesn’t compete with you, Jess. No one does. For me: You. Are. It.”

“They intimidate me. All of them. They’re like you. I’m not.” That was as honest as I had been with him.

Jason nodded. “Yeah, they all have the same career goals I have. Some even more than I do. Most more than I do. We all grew up similarly. But not one of them has ever made me feel like I couldn’t breathe without them. Not one of them is you, Jess. And they never will be. They don’t know how to make their own clothes. They don’t know how much fun an entire day of lying on a sofa watching all the Rocky movies can be, or how to get out of bed looking like a f**king goddess. Only you, Jess. Get that through your head, baby. But if you want to pull me into restrooms and f**k me in order to remind me how much I want your sexy little body, then please do. Because that was hot. Seriously hot.”

His words brought tears to my eyes, and a laugh bubbled out of me. Was I losing it with this pregnancy thing?

Jason held me and we stood there while I composed myself.

“I love this closet,” he said. “Smells like you. When you aren’t here and I’m missing you, I come stand in here. The other morning when you were sleeping, I came in here before I left and just took a deep breath.”

I tilted my head back and looked up at Jason. “Really?” I asked, amazed.

He grinned. “Yeah. I’m as insane about you as you are about me. You just keep forgetting that. I feel like I’m failing you somehow. I don’t want you to doubt how obsessed I am with you.”

“Next time remind me that you smell my closet when you miss me. I think that’ll help,” I suggested.

“I’ll do that.”

***

Over the next month I managed to get my emotions in order. I was still jumping Jason regularly, but he didn’t seem to mind how much I wanted sex. Jason said that news of our little escapade in the restroom during Finn’s party had gotten around, and now he was the envied one among his friends. He seemed to think it was funny, and I was glad my moment of jealousy hadn’t caused issues.

Today was Friday, which was my favorite day of the week. It meant I would have Jason for two whole days. Even when he studied he was here, so I wasn’t missing him. I worked on some new maternity outfits for myself while he read.

I was getting cleaned up after finishing my daily courses online. I wanted my business degree. I had finally decided I wanted to design my own clothing, not work for someone else. Maybe I would make a kids’ boutique line. I wasn’t sure yet. But I knew that to run a business, I needed a degree.

The door opened and Jason walked in, carrying two large paper bags and wearing a smile on his face. “I’m home.”

Laughing, I hurried over to him and kissed his face. “I see that.”

He kissed me back, then pulled away. “Don’t start that now. I’ll have you na**d and up against a wall before we know it. And before we play, we have work to do,” he said, then held up the bags he was carrying.

“Work?” I asked, confused.

“Yep. Work. The fun kind,” he assured me, and walked over to the coffee table and put the bags down.
